The frames are made from Tulip wood (American Poplar) - from sustainable managed source. A little more expensive than cheaper pines but considerably better quality and excellent for gilding. Decoration is applied by hand using traditional composition ornament, pressed from antique boxwood carvings - offering superb definition. The frames are hand gilded in either gold, silver or copper, then toned and mellowed using traditional techniques. The mirrors are English silvered, hand cut and bevelled.
